The use of telemedicine in cardiology
Using the achievements of telecommunication technologies in healthcare makes it possible to raise the effectiveness of treatment and diagnostics to a qualitatively new level.

In order to organize the provision of medical care to patients with the acute coronary syndrome and to reduce mortality from cardiovascular diseases, we have introduced remote transmission of ECG data.
In the cardiology department, such work will be carried out around the clock. If myocardial infarction is suspected, we have the opportunity, after removing the ECG, to remotely transfer the ECG to the center, where the cardiologist decrypts the films, and also have the ability to contact the nurse’s paramedic on the phone to clarify the information and provide recommendations. Over the past month, more than 100 tele-ECGs have been accepted and deciphered, which allowed the medical assistant team to establish a diagnosis on the spot and correctly begin treatment of patients.
Thanks to this work, it is possible to early diagnose acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and decide on thrombolytic therapy in the absence of contraindications (dissolving a blood clot in the coronary artery using intravenous administration of the drug Metalysis) at the prehospital stage, and this leads to the restoration of coronary blood flow and elimination ischemia or a decrease in the focus of myocardial damage. All this allows us to provide medical care to patients with ACS at a new level and reduce mortality from diseases of the circulatory system.
The method allows you to re-register the ECG after a set period of time or when changing the general condition of the patient in order to identify and control pathological changes in the myocardium.
